Rentals give beginners a great start at an affordable price — and as children grow, you can swap up a size.
We’ve built a fleet of violins, violas and cellos to give beginners the best possible start, all selected and set up in our own workshop.
Violins come from a French supplier, chosen as excellent beginner instruments.
Cellos are made by a French company, based on a Mirecourt model popular in the 1900s.
Violas are the best student models we’ve seen, starting at 28cm (equivalent to a quarter-size violin). The model varies by size, and we source the best instrument for each.

Instruments are available from 1/8 size to full-size outfits.
Rental terms
- First-time renters bring two forms of ID, one showing their address.
- The first three months’ rent is paid up front, together with the deposit.
- Payments from month four are collected by direct debit through GoCardless.
- We’ll talk you through insurance when you collect.
